Married At First Sight Australia is known for its dramatics, and the 2025 season is no different with one groom shockingly exiting within the first week of the experiment.
The relationship experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and sexologist Alessandra Rampolla have returned for MAFS’ 12th season, pairing a new set of 20 unlucky in love participants as they hope to find ‘the one.’

But it wouldn’t be Married At First Sight without a few arguments on the way to true love.
The 2025 season has truly tested the couples with Nine’s introduction of ‘Final Test Week’ challenge, which certainly made or broke the couples as it raised questions about their relationship and their commitment.
Below, we’ve listed all the participants and couples who have made a shock exit from the Married At First Sight Australia 2025 experiment.

Ryan & Jacqui
“As a man, your not perfect. It’s not the 1920s anymore. I don’t want to be the wife to a man, I want to be a wife to a husband. So today, I choose peace and to walk away from this relationship. Ryan, in a world of red flags, you are the red carpet,” Jacqui said in her final vows.
Ryan & Jacqui were the most turbulent couple of MAFS 2025, yet were one of the remaining couples standing at final vows. Both parties made the decision to not continue in the real world.

Carina & Paul
It was a rocky start for Carina and Paul, as the bride realised her groom wasn’t a complete stranger and had gone on a date prior to the experiment. While they seemed to overcome this small bump, only to faced by a mountain of issues.
Despite Paul wanting to continue their relationship, Carina decided to part ways.
“I was falling hard for you… but then, you made a decision that would deeply impact our relationship,” she said during final vows. “Paul, I was yours, you had me, and you ruined it. Now you’re gonna have to live with that for the rest of your life.”

Beth & Teejay
Mere days away from final vows, Beth and Teejay’s relationship came crumbling down when the groom revealed his romantic feelings weren’t growing while the bride’s feelings were.
Not wanting to stand in front of Teejay in a white dress once more, Beth called it quits on their relationship.
“I don’t want to stand there, [put] on another white dress like I did on my wedding day, pour my heart out to you, pour my emotions out to you, for you to just reject me again. I deserve to be with someone that wants me and is sure about me. So, final vows is not happening,” she said.
“I’m so sick of crying… I genuinely thought we would walk out of this experiment together. I thought we were perfectly matched.”

Eliot & Veronica
After Eliot was given a second chance with bride Veronica, things started off well for the pair before things started to get rocky.
After the couple swap, where Veronica was paired with Dave, she shared, “Dave has made me realise it should come easy and it shouldn’t be as hard as it is with Eliot and I.”
At the second commitment ceremony, the pair chose to leave the experiment after their ‘butting heads’ was causing too much conflict in their relationship.

Lauren & Clint
Despite Lauren’s second chance at love with Clint, after a short few days with her first husband Eliot, the pair have both decided to leave the experiment.
During their couple’s retreat, Lauren and the other members of the experiment were in a rollercoaster of emotions, with some hefty throw-away comments from Lauren – and some new vocabulary, ‘boganic.’
In their last commitment ceremony, it is a mutual understanding that the pair are simply friends at this stage.
“I don’t feel like I want to jump into bed with Lauren,” Clint shared.
“We’ve both agreed that it’s just not there,” Lauren said.
When asked whether they were staying or leaving, Lauren wrote, “Leaving… the zoo,” and Clint wrote, “Leave,” before the pair both walked out.

Tony & Morena
We hoped Tony and Morena had a second chance at love, but unfortunately, the experiments oldest couple for 2025 left on very bad terms.
During Friends and Family Week on MAFS, Tony dropped the bombshell that he wanted children of his own, a wish that Morena couldn’t provide.
In their final commitment ceremony, Tony initially faced the relationship experts alone until Morena made a dramatic entrance, saying: “Did you really think I wasn’t gonna come? Did you really think I was gonna give him the last word?”
When decision time came, she ultimately wrote “good riddance” on her card before storming out.

Billy & Sierah
We had such high hopes for Billy and Sierah, but unfortunately, the pair have come to a fiery end after Billy’s trust in his wife was broken.
During the experiment, Sierah struggled to open up emotionally to Billy, and confided in Adrian.
“All I’ve ever wanted was a deeper connection, and I’ve gotten nothing,” Billy expressed at their final commitment ceremony. “I’ve tried to give you what you needed, but you don’t give me what I need. I don’t know why, because I’ve expressed every part of my life to you – my mum doesn’t even know some of the things that I’ve said. I’ve tried, because I’ve come into this experiment with an open [mind] because I haven’t been like that in previous relationships. I’ve gotten nothing from you.”
After hearing his emotional speech, Sierah confessed she “regrets” her decision to write leave, while Billy had none at all.

Ashleigh & Jake
It seemed to be smooth sailing for Ashleigh and Jake when they first met, but a rogue comment during the first round of challenges from the groom set the course for their demise.
After Jake said some harsh comments during the Photo Ranking challenge, Ash sought advice in her fellow MAFS participants. Feeling betrayed, Jake ultimately wrote ‘leave’ during the first commitment ceremony, however, Ash wrote ‘stay’ – forcing the couple to remain in the experiment.
Following the commitment ceremony, Jake stayed in a separate apartment, only returning the next morning to pack his bags.
“I’m packing. I’m going,” he said.
Forcing Ash to also exit the experiment.

Katie & Tim
Katie and Tim were the second to exit the MAFS experiment in 2025, luckily, we held out no real hope for these two.
From the wedding, Tim felt no “spark” given Katie wasn’t his usual type of woman.
“I normally go for short, petite, blonde or brunette like… Katie’s nothing what I normally go for,” he said.
When it came time for the couples to move in together, Tim opted out. He made a shock appearance at the dinner party, he promptly exited the party and returned home to Melbourne while Katie continued to participate in challenges.
Tim and Katie officially exited the experiment during the first commitment ceremony of 2025.

Lauren & Eliot
From the very beginning, Eliot made it very clear that if his new wife didn’t meet his long list of “non-negotiables,” he would leave. In the third episode of MAFS, Eliot kept his promise.
“I definitely wanted someone younger than me. That was a non-negotiable,” he said.
“I gave it the shot that I said I would based on the match,” he said moments before leaving the honeymoon – two days after the wedding.
