What is the Amazon Prime Day sale?

Amazon Prime Day is one of Amazon’s major sales events, where customers are treated to some of the best deals on the site. The discounts and offers from major brands can rival the sales that you see during Black Friday sales.

For example, last Amazon Prime Day you could save up to 63% on the Amazon Echo range of smart speakers and displays, 47% on a Dyson V8 Extra Cordless Vacuum Cleaner and up to 47% on Samsonite luggage. There were also discounts on LEGO, Dyson Airwraps, makeup, household essentials and even shoes and apparel from brands like Sketchers, The North Face and Tommy Hilfiger.

If you’re really organised, consider this your chance to start shopping for early Christmas products, or to stock up on those household essentials.

When does Amazon Prime Day start and finish?

This year, Amazon Australia are running their Prime Day sales for the longest time ever, and you’ll be able to shop for a whole week! From 8 to 14 July, you’ll see heavily discounted products across the site.

Do you have to be an Amazon Prime member to shop the sale?

Yes, you need to be an Amazon Prime member in order to receive Prime Day discounts. If you’re not already a member, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial to make the most of Prime Day deals and other benefits. After the trial, Prime is $9.99/month or $79/year and can be cancelled at any time, including during the trial period.

What will be on sale for Prime Day?

Amazon doesn’t really announce exactly what will be on sale before Prime Day but there are usually hints and a few early details that can help build out our wishlists. So far, we know that there are going to be thousands of discounts from most-loved brands such as Adidas, Amazon Devices, Apple, Dyson, ECOVACS, Koala, L’Oreal Paris, LEGO, New Balance, Ninja, OMO, Phillips, Shark, Sony, Xbox and more.
